TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Army’s 249th Infantry Brigade recently conducted rifle training exercises for reservists.
Reservists practiced zeroing, or sighting in, at a 25-meter range with the T91 rifle and completed basic shooting qualifications at a 175-meter range, Military News Agency reported. Soldiers also fired from behind obstacles and reviewed procedures for clearing rifle malfunctions.
The training aimed to improve the overall capabilities of the reserve force by reinforcing marksmanship fundamentals and shooting techniques.
Brigade Commander Wu (吳) visited the range to oversee the exercises, encourage the reservists, and present certificates of completion.
The 249th Infantry Brigade operates under the Sixth Army Corps, which is responsible for defending northern Taiwan.
Last week, the Army conducted its annual Shen Ying missile live-fire exercise. AH-64E Apache, AH-1W SuperCobra, and OH-58D Kiowa helicopters launched Hellfire missiles at sea-based targets.
The drill was designed to verify the effectiveness of training and assess how quickly troops could adapt to changing battlefield conditions.
