TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — French National Assembly Taiwan Friendship Group member Guillaume Kasbarian hailed deepening bilateral relations during talks with Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) on Wednesday.
Kasbarian, who is leading a delegation in Taiwan, said the trip aims to support Taiwan-France cooperation, CNA reported. Many collaborative projects are already underway, he said. The lawmaker said that cultural exchanges between Taiwan and France are also thriving.
Kasbarian praised Taiwan’s economic success and said he learned about leading Taiwan companies in the semiconductor, startup, and digital electronics sectors during the Computex opening ceremony on Tuesday.
Kasbarian said that in the face of an increasingly complex geopolitical environment, Taiwan and France share common challenges such as upholding sovereignty and cybersecurity. He hoped his visit would demonstrate the importance of shared values, such as human rights and freedom.
