TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The condition of a 14-year-old girl injured in a traffic accident in New Taipei has stabilized, and she no longer requires critical care.
On Monday, a 78-year-old man surnamed Yu (余) drove his car into a group of pedestrians in Sanxia District, killing three and injuring 12, including several students.
Far Eastern Memorial Hospital said Thursday that a junior high school student surnamed Liu (劉), who had been in the ICU, is in stable condition. She was to be transferred to a general ward later in the afternoon following an evaluation by the medical team, per UDN.
The hospital said that since being admitted after the accident, Liu had been cared by the ICU team. Her vital signs have stabilized and she no longer requires intensive care support.
In addition, Lin Wu-lung (林武龍), principal of Sanxia Junior High School, visited Far Eastern Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon to check on the recovery of two injured students and expressed gratitude for the public's concern.
