TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Zespri International Limited is distributing kiwi at Taipei Metro's Zhongshan and Daan stations daily from 7 to 11 a.m. through June 14.
Zespri is conducting a poll on Taiwanese breakfast preferences during the event. Participants who add Zespri on Line and complete the specified tasks can show their completed task screen to staff to receive a Zespri SunGold kiwi.
Eight hundred kiwis will be distributed daily at Zhongshan Station and 600 at Daan Station, according to Zespri. If the daily supply of kiwis runs out, the company will provide kiwi-shaped eco-friendly bags, limited to 100 per day.
The event locations are decorated with a kiwi and Taiwanese breakfast theme. Zespri’s staff members promoted kiwi benefits.
Zespri has also partnered with Taipei Metro to decorate select cars on the Tamsui-Xinyi Line. These cars feature a kiwi and Taiwanese breakfast theme, showcasing iconic local foods such as Taipei soy milk, Hualien meat buns, Changhua braised pork rice, and Tainan beef soup.
The Zespri event has attracted large daily crowds, with many people lining up to participate. Company staff have set up queue barriers to manage the crowds and prevent disruption to metro commuters.
Zespri will also team up with FamilyMart Taiwan to offer a special combo deal from Wednesday through June 24. Customers can purchase a Zespri fresh-cut fruit box with selected yogurts for NT$94 (US$3.11).
Zespri said that morning is the most efficient time for nutrient absorption, and incorporating kiwi into breakfast can significantly boost nutrition. The company added that SunGold kiwifruit is rich in Vitamin C. Green kiwi has dietary fiber to support digestive health.
