TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Deputy Legislative Speaker Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) met with a youth political leaders delegation from the European Values Important Partners Program on Wednesday.

Chiang said that Taiwan and Europe share core democratic values and hoped these beliefs would be passed down to younger generations, while bilateral relations continue to deepen, CNA reported.

He said he engaged in discussions with parliamentarians and listened to their perspectives during his three trips to Europe last year. He traveled to the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Italy, and France. Chiang said he looked forward to more cooperation with European countries. 

This is the first time the group members have visited Taiwan. The delegation said the visit helped deepen mutual understanding and gave them more insights about the country.
