TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Starlux Airlines is now flying a nonstop service between Taipei and Ontario International Airport in the US’ California.
The first flight was at the end of last week and was met with a cannon salute. Following the opening of routes in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle, it is the fourth destination in the US for Starlux, per KTLA.
This means there are now 14 flights to south California by the airline. The larger Los Angeles area is home to more than 2.5 million Asian Americans, including many Taiwanese.
The company’s Chief Passenger Commercial Officer, Walter Liang (梁文龍) said: “This new route is an important milestone … Ontario’s strategic location within the Greater Los Angeles area positions us to better connect the diverse communities of Southern California to and from Asia in luxury and comfort.”
There will be four flights a week using an Airbus A350-900 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
