TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The outer circulation of Wutip, which could become the first typhoon this year, will bring rain to Taiwan from Thursday through the weekend, the Central Weather Administration said on Tuesday.
The administration forecasts the typhoon could form on Wednesday and land in southeastern China on Saturday, with a low possibility of directly affecting Taiwan, per CNA.
From Tuesday to Wednesday, temperatures across Taiwan will range from 27 C to 36 C, with Taipei, Tainan, and Kaohsiung likely to experience highs of 36 C. The east will see brief showers, while afternoon thunderstorms are expected in mountainous areas and parts of central and southern Taiwan.
From Thursday to Friday, brief showers are expected in northern and northeastern Taiwan, while heavy rain is forecast for the south and southeast. Temperatures will range from 24 C to 32 C in the north and 25 C to 32 C in central and southern regions.
Over the weekend, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan will experience brief showers or thunderstorms, while the north will see afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 26 C to 33 C in the north and 27 C to 31 C in central and southern areas.
Taiwan will experience hot weather with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies from June 16 to 18, with afternoon showers or thunderstorms possible nationwide.
