TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Central Weather Administration forecast that temperatures in northern Taiwan will reach 36 C on Wednesday.
Temperatures in the north will range from 26 C to 36 C on Wednesday, while central and southern regions will see highs between 26 C and 35 C. Brief thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon across central and southern areas, per Yahoo News.
Rain is expected across Taiwan from Thursday through the weekend due to the outer circulation of Wutip, which could become this year's first typhoon. The south could experience heavy rain or thunderstorms throughout the day, while other areas may see isolated afternoon thunderstorms.
The administration forecast the typhoon could form on Wednesday and land in southeastern China on Saturday, with a low possibility of directly affecting Taiwan.
Temperatures are expected to dip slightly on Thursday and Friday, with highs ranging from 26 C to 32 C in the north and 26 C to 31 C in central and southern regions. Over the weekend, temperatures in northern and central areas are forecast to fall between 26 C and 35 C, while the south will remain at 26 C to 31 C.
Taiwan is expected to return to hot and partly cloudy weather from Monday through June 20, with a chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms across the country.
