TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taxation Administration announced Tuesday that the number of NT$500 (US$17) prizes for cloud receipts will be increased by 700,000 per receipt lottery draw for the rest of the year.
The agency said prize categories and quantities for the January–April draws matched those from September–December, per CNA. Each draw included 30 NT$1 million, 16,000 NT$2,000, 100,000 NT$800, and 2.45 million NT$500 prizes for cloud invoices.
After the Legislative Yuan approved lifting a 30% freeze on the budget for prizes, the Taxation Administration reevaluated its funding. It decided to raise the number of NT$500 prizes to 3.15 million per draw from May to December.
The total number of cloud invoice prizes per draw will rise from 2,566,030 to 3,266,030. This aims to give the public more chances to win and encourage the use of digital invoices.
The Ministry of Finance urges consumers to request cloud invoices when shopping and use the e-invoice platform or official app. Setting up a prize redemption account helps prevent missed winnings and enables a fully paperless process from issuance to storage, donation, and redemption.
