TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — TSMC is handing out its largest employee bonus in history, with an average payout of over NT$2 million (US$69,000) per person, an increase of NT$513,200 from last year.
Half of the company's 2024 employee bonuses have yet to be distributed, with reports Thursday indicating the funds will be credited this week, per Yahoo Finance. The other half was already paid out quarterly throughout last year.
On Feb. 12, TSMC’s board passed seven resolutions, including approval of employee performance bonuses totaling approximately NT$140.6 billion, a record high. About NT$70.3 billion has already been disbursed, while the remaining amount will be paid in July.
With around 70,000 employees in Taiwan at the end of last year, the average annual bonus per person amounts to NT$2.0084 million, a 34.32% year-on-year increase. Actual payouts vary depending on job title, seniority, and performance.
