TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Kaohsiung, Tainan, and Pingtung were the first areas to announce the closure of offices and schools Sunday due to the approach of Tropical Storm Danas.
The Directorate-General of Personnel Administration (DGPA) publishes updates about work and classes on its website in English and Mandarin.
The Central Weather Administration was planning to issue land warnings Saturday evening, per CNA. The storm was still located more than 300 kilometers west-southwest of Taiwan’s southern tip, but was expected to move north over the Taiwan Strait.
As a result, abundant rain and strong winds were forecast for most of Taiwan during Sunday and Monday morning, before the storm was expected to move away from the country Monday afternoon.
