TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taoyuan Metro Corporation announced Wednesday that the Taoyuan Airport MRT will participate in air raid drills next week.
The company said the MRT line will support the Ministry of National Defense’s 2025 Urban Resilience Exercise, scheduled for 1:30 to 2 p.m. on July 17, per CNA. While train service will remain normal, passengers will not be allowed to exit stations and will be guided to designated shelter areas by staff, police, and security.
Thirty minutes before the drill begins, announcements will be broadcast at stations and onboard trains to explain the procedures. Once it starts, passengers must remain inside the stations until the all-clear is given.
Parking lots along the MRT line will also be subject to restrictions during the drill. Vehicles may enter, but will not be allowed to exit during that time.
People seeking shelter can proceed to nearby MRT stations and are advised to follow instructions. Travelers are encouraged to arrive early to avoid delays to their planned itineraries.
