TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – United Airlines launched flights between Kaohsiung and Tokyo’s Narita Airport Saturday.
The daily flight leaves Kaohsiung at 10:25 a.m. to arrive in Tokyo at 3:15 p.m. local time. The return flight takes off at 5:30 p.m. and lands in Kaohsiung at 9 p.m., per CNA. A Boeing 737-800 seating 166 passengers, including 16 business class travelers, flies the route.
The new service will bring more international visitors to Kaohsiung, expand its visibility, and provide local residents with easier access to Japan and to corresponding flights to San Francisco, the Kaohsiung City Government said.
The official launch in Kaohsiung was attended by Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁), United Airlines Head of Worldwide Sales Marcel Fuchs, and by American Institute in Taiwan Kaohsiung Branch Chief Neil Gibson.
