TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan and Vietnam signed an agreement to deepen educational cooperation on Friday.
Taiwan’s representative to Vietnam, Liu Shih-chung (劉世忠), and Vietnam’s representative to Taiwan, Phan Kieu Chung, signed the agreement, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The revised agreement builds on a 2017 educational cooperation MOU while updating its contents in response to current international trends and the practical needs of both nations, MOFA said. It covers various areas including education, academic research, language exchange, and talent cultivation, laying a foundation for deeper exchanges, the ministry added.
Taiwan will continue to promote cooperation and exchanges with Vietnam in various sectors, MOFA said.
Nearly 40,000 Vietnamese students were studying in Taiwan by the end of 2024, making them the largest group of international students in the country, Liu said in April.
