TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Kinmen Defense Command's Lieyu Garrison Battalion conducted a drill on Tuesday, simulating an enemy amphibious assault on Kinmen Bridge.
Troops used CM21 armored vehicles to quickly take up key positions and suppress advancing enemy forces, CNA reported. The Kinmen Defense Command commented that it maintains constant readiness and ensures a rapid response.
The drill aimed to rehearse how to counter an enemy landing and utilize multi-layered defense positions. It also focused on flexible troop redeployment and tested joint operational capabilities.
The drill was part of the Han Kuang 41 military exercise, which is in its seventh day. Taiwan’s armed forces practiced rapid response to enemy operations beyond the beach. The military’s strategy integrates civilian resources to maintain a comprehensive defense.
