TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Four regions in Central Taiwan attended the Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo to draw more tourists from the territory, reports said Thursday.
Taichung, Nantou, Changhua, and Miaoli launched promotional actions at the July 16-22 event, per CNA. Nantou reportedly took the initiative to invite the other areas to emphasize their own characteristics in front of an audience from Hong Kong and Macau.
Nantou presented its mountains, tea, Indigenous culture, and Sun Moon Lake, while Changhua introduced the Baguashan Great Buddha and the streets of Lugang. Miaoli featured Taian Hot Springs and the Old Mountain Line Rail Bike at Shengxing Station, with Taichung presenting its National Theater and Rainbow Village. The Double Ten National Day fireworks and a tea expo also featured prominently in Nantou’s promotion.
The four cities and counties in Central Taiwan said that after the Hong Kong fair, they would continue joint promotion activities to attract more visitors from overseas.
