TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Teco Electric and Machinery Co. has won two contracts for data center projects in Malaysia, reports said Friday.
The engineering contracts for the two separate data centers were worth a total value of NT$1.17 billion (US$39.78 million), per CNA. The project at the Elmina Business Park in Selangor included the installation of server rooms and hyperscale fiber-optic communication systems, while the contract for the Sedenak Tech Park in Johor Bahru covered fiber-optic solution work for hyperscale data centers.
Teco said it would continue to pursue business opportunities in the sector as Southeast Asia was rapidly expanding its role as a destination for data center investment. The company emphasized it already had more than 10 years of experience in the same business in Singapore.
All its projects realized in Taiwan and Southeast Asia had a combined capacity exceeding 700 Megawatt, the electric machinery company said. Teco also manufactured other key elements, including power generators, transformers, and engines.
Teco Chair Morris Li (利明献) said that winning the deals in Malaysia showed the group’s technical prowess in data center engineering and in project integration and execution on the international scene.
