TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Theloop, Taiwan's renowned entertainment conglomerate behind high-end nightlife venues like Kor Taipei and the exclusive ONCOR club, has ventured into the culinary scene with its exciting new American pizza brand: Secret Pizza Club (SPC).
SPC is set to shake up Taipei's pizza market by specializing in the less common but increasingly popular Detroit-style pizza, combining its distinctive culinary offering with bold visuals and American subculture elements.
Unlike the more familiar thin-crust Italian pizzas, SPC's Detroit-style pies are characterized by their thick, rectangular crust.
A key highlight is the cheese crust, formed by cheese that is baked to a crispy perfection along the edges. This contrasts beautifully with the soft, chewy dough and generous toppings, creating a rich and layered texture.
Signature flavors include the classic pepperoni pizza and beef birria pizza, which features marinated red onions and slow-braised beef, offering a masterful balance of savory meat and a subtly tangy tomato sauce. Cheese lovers will not want to miss the triple cheese, a decadent stack of three different cheeses.
Beyond traditional red sauce, SPC offers a range of creative dipping sauces to elevate the pizza experience. Options like Korean spicy honey, cilantro sour cream, and charcoal-grilled pineapple sauce add unique flavor.
The cilantro sour cream has become a particular favorite among younger crowds, as its refreshing tang cuts through the pizza's richness. The charcoal-grilled pineapple sauce adds a tropical twist that pairs perfectly with pepperoni.
SPC's playful brand identity is also worth noting. From its vibrant orange visual branding to the mysterious Bigfoot character, the entire concept exudes American subculture humor.
The menu also features a selection of popular snacks that cater to diverse late-night cravings. These include fried chicken, truffle fries, and Korean-style fried spare ribs. The Korean-style fried spare ribs are doused in a spicy Korean sauce that has a sweet and spicy kick, making them a popular companion to the pizzas.
SPC's dishes can be enjoyed at physical locations like Kor Taipei and OMNI nightclub, and they are also available through delivery platforms, allowing customers to savor the bold American pizza style from the comfort of their homes.
With SPC now in the pizza market, Taipei's nightlife scene gains an extra layer of cheesy goodness and hot-from-the-pan warmth, providing even more exciting options for late-night indulgence.
