TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — W Taipei’s Woobar is heating up summer afternoons with a bold twist on Taiwanese street food, unveiling the new “Sunkissed” edition of its signature W Tipsy Tea.
This seasonal afternoon tea for two is served on a mini tabletop grill and reimagines the flavors of Taiwan’s beloved grilled skewers. Drawing inspiration from the communal ritual of barbecuing during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the set offers playful takes on nostalgic local favorites, both sweet and savory.
On the dessert side, highlights include cinnamon pineapple with blue cheese and pistachio, a cheeky nod to stinky tofu, and blackcurrant chocolate fudge with peanut powder, mint, and crushed red peppercorn, evoking the iconic pig blood cake. Savory selections feature grilled Iberico pork, ribeye, and scallop skewers.

The set is priced at NT$2,588 (US$88) for two and includes one cocktail or mocktail and a choice of coffee or tea per person. It is available daily from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Oct. 5.
Signature drinks include the non-alcoholic “Sunnda,” blending honey, lime juice, and lychee puree, and the “Smoked BBQ” cocktail, made with vodka, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, smoked Tabasco, crispy bacon, and more.
The afternoon tea is part of W Taipei’s broader “Sun Chasers” summer celebration, a series of events and curated offerings embracing the season’s energy and radiance. The lineup includes “Sunset Sessions,” featuring live DJ and band performances every Friday through Sunday until Aug. 31, set against panoramic golden-hour views.

Other seasonal experiences include the “Paint the Moment” stay package, available through Sept. 26, which includes two tickets to the Fubon Art Museum’s painting exhibition from the Worcester Art Museum — featuring works such as Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies.”
Meanwhile, W Taipei’s modern French restaurant, Seasons by Olivier e., continues its semi-buffet brunch with standout dishes including French beef pithivier, surf and turf with lobster and prime ribeye, Chilled seafood platter with king crab, Duck leg confit, and the restaurant’s signature Corn chicken.
From grilled skewers to poolside cocktails, W Taipei’s summer offerings highlight a creative fusion of local flavors and seasonal experiences.
