TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan’s passport was listed as the 33rd strongest in the world by Henley and Partners as it gives visa-free access to 139 countries, reports said Wednesday.
The British immigration investment adviser drew up a list of countries and territories ranked according to how many countries their citizens could enter without having to apply for a visa.
Singapore topped the Henley Passport Index with visa-free travel to 193 countries, followed by Japan and South Korea in second place. Other East Asian countries and territories ahead of Taiwan were Malaysia at No. 11, Hong Kong at No. 17, Brunei at No. 19, and Macau at No. 31.
China ranked 60th with visa waivers for 83 countries, Thailand 62nd, and Indonesia 66th, while Afghanistan closed off the list at No. 99. Its citizens could enter 25 countries without visa.
