TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Air Force’s Thunder Tiger Aerobatics Team will hold a handover ceremony on Tuesday to mark its transition from AT-3 Tzu Chiang jet trainers to Brave Eagle jet trainers.
The ceremony will take place at the Flight Training Command in Gangshan, Kaohsiung, per Liberty Times. Last week, Tzu Chiang and Brave Eagle jets conducted a joint rehearsal—the first time both aircraft types performed together.
The Tzu Chiang jets have served for more than 40 years and are being retired this year.
The Brave Eagle is the sixth aircraft model to be used by the Thunder Tiger Aerobatics Team since it was established in 1953. Designed by the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation, the Brave Eagle can also be equipped with missiles for combat operations.
