TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Andrew Charity Association said Thursday it has delivered 1,100 food boxes to Chiayi and Tainan, aiming to ease the hardship of families affected by recent flooding.
The association mobilized volunteers nationwide to pack and deliver “peace-of-mind food boxes,” each designed to support a family for several days with ready-to-eat meals, per CNA. The association said it activates emergency relief efforts immediately after major disasters, working with partners to coordinate deliveries.
Lo Shao-ho (羅紹和), CEO of the Andrew Charity Association, said the group acted swiftly to rally support from donors and volunteers across Taiwan. He said he hopes the food boxes provide not just meals but also comfort and dignity.
Deliveries to affected areas are being carried out in staggered batches to ensure timely distribution, especially to the hardest-hit communities. The organization urged the public to support its long-term “Peace of Mind Program,” which helps disaster-stricken families recover by offering aid and care.
Taiwan’s central and southern regions have seen extensive flood damage in recent days, with relief agencies racing to get essentials to affected residents.
