TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chunghwa Telecom is showcasing its 5G and AI technology applications, including private 5G networks, smart manufacturing, smart logistics, and immersive experiences, during the AI Wave Show at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
The event, which runs through Saturday, features 200 exhibitors presenting more than 300 AI-powered applications, including servers, robots, and generative AI technologies. The show also hosts 40 keynote addresses.
Chunghwa Telecom said that its private 5G networks support functions such as image recognition, voice interaction, and sensor integration. The system can be flexibly deployed to meet the specific operational needs of enterprises, per CNA.
The company noted that the technology has helped Taiwan’s manufacturers integrate optical inspection systems with AI platforms, enabling the transmission of images for defect detection. The process is then paired with robotic arms for automated sorting, which reduces labor costs and improves production quality.
At the expo, Chunghwa Telecom is using 5G networks to support high-definition streaming and is showcasing augmented and virtual reality devices that create immersive experiences.
The company is also presenting a virtual scene featuring a glowing tree under the moonlight, creating a calm nighttime atmosphere. It added that this technology can be applied in urban marketing, education, and cultural performances.
Additionally, the company has combined 5G with an AI-powered license plate recognition system to enhance logistics operations. By integrating cameras and sensor devices, it has built a secure vehicle access management system.
Taiwan Mobile Co. unveiled its AI cloud data center for the first time at the event. The facility is equipped with advanced cooling systems, developed in collaboration with US-based Vantage Data Centers. The data center has a maximum load capacity of 25 megawatts, with 16 MW allocated for IT equipment.
Far EasTone is also showcasing its AI-powered fraud detection system at the event. The platform integrates Microsoft Azure OpenAI technology, offering services to ensure data security and system adaptability. The company said the system is capable of blocking more than 100,000 scam calls and thousands of fraudulent messages monthly.
