TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Academia Historica said Wednesday it will organize three events to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
A three-day academic symposium titled "From the Second Sino-Japanese War to Postwar Recovery" will be held from Aug. 15 to 17, according to a press release.
It will also open a mini-exhibition called "Light and Shadow: Key Historical Materials of Taiwan Around 1945."
A series of six lectures offering diverse perspectives and analysis of the core issues surrounding Taiwan’s postwar transition will be held from Aug. 7 to Nov. 4. The first two will be held at Academia Historica in Taipei. The remaining four will take place at Taiwan Historica in Nantou.
The lectures are intended to enhance public understanding of this critical historical period and inspire reflection and dialogue, Academia Historica commented.
