TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The annual Health Ageing Tech Expo will take place Friday through Sunday at the Taipei World Trade Center, featuring 1,200 booths and six major themed zones.
This year’s event, themed “Back to Youth,” will showcase innovations in health supplements, fitness equipment, smart medical technology, and health insurance. Participants include representatives from Taiwan’s medical institutions, research organizations, businesses, and government agencies, per CNA.
As Taiwan enters a super-aged society this year, the government has launched new initiatives in partnership with research institutions and private companies to help older adults maintain independence and social connectivity, with the goal of creating an age-friendly society.
The Taipei City Government will present hands-on activities and highlight its achievements in lifelong learning, employment support, and long-term care services for seniors. Ten Taipei-based companies will also exhibit applications such as AI diagnostic tools, wearable devices, and augmented reality interactive technologies.
The New Taipei City Government will feature three dedicated exhibition zones, showcasing bathroom safety aids, driving assistance devices, immersive tech, and free AI-powered health screenings.
The city’s Economic Development Department noted that a doctor from Mackay Memorial Hospital will host a seminar at New Taipei’s booth on Friday to discuss how dietary changes can strengthen the immune system. Free samples and giveaways will also be available.
The Taichung City Government will unveil the design blueprint for a 4.88-hectare elderly care hospital, which will integrate emergency services, long-term care, preventive medicine, and smart health technologies to create a comprehensive senior care system.
In September, Taichung will also roll out care robots in outpatient clinics and hospital wards. Equipped with navigation, interactive communication, and health reminder functions, the robots are designed to assist medical staff and enhance patient care.
Meanwhile, the Tainan City Government will showcase its progress in home-based medical services, chronic disease screening, and community care initiatives.
