TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — National Chung Hsing University launched a community health event Saturday at its Nantou branch, mobilizing over 100 medical personnel.
The event was organized by the university’s College of Medicine in collaboration with Changhua Christian Hospital and the Nantou County Health Bureau, per CNA. Services included consultations in family medicine, orthopedics, dentistry as well as nutrition and epidemic prevention.
The school designed interactive stations featuring hand-washing demonstrations and human organ model displays. Attendees who completed activities received small gifts, blending learning with fun.
Nantou County Public Health Bureau contributed a mobile service unit providing mammography and chest X-rays. Nantou County Public Health Bureau Director Chen Nan-sung (陳南松) praised the collaboration, noting it combined medical expertise with local health services.
NCHU Vice President Chang Chao-chin (張照勤) said the program exemplifies the university’s commitment to social responsibility and extends medical education beyond the classroom. He thanked Changhua Christian Hospital and the Nantou health bureau for their support.
Through this initiative, the school said it aims to unite academic and local government strengths to improve health literacy and create a more caring living environment.
