TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Hotels in Taiwan are offering Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake gift sets this year, highlighting Taiwanese flavors, themed packaging, and limited editions.
In Taiwan, Mid-Autumn Festival is one of three major traditional holidays alongside Lunar New Year and Dragon Boat Festival, and falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month — Oct. 6 this year.
Mooncakes, with their round, golden shapes, have become synonymous with the festival. Historically used as ritual offerings, they represent family unity and completeness, making them a centerpiece of the celebrations.
Hotels across Taiwan are offering festive mooncake sets, according to press releases.
