TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Trendy Taipei music festival returns this year with ambitions to establish the capital as one of Asia’s leading cultural centers.
Opening Monday and running through Sept. 7, the event will feature around 150 performances and more than 35 cross-industry forums. With the slogan “It’s Now,” organizers said the festival will fuse music, art, technology, gaming, and fashion.
Rooted in pop music, the festival aims to spark a renaissance in the local arts scene. It has drawn support from central government agencies and major companies including Nvidia and Uni-President Group.
The event is structured around three pillars:
- Concert Economy: Partnerships with private enterprises will bring ticketed concerts to Taipei Arena, featuring rising stars from Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. At the same time, Taipei Music Center will host an Asian music festival with artists from 10 Asia-Pacific nations.
- Industry Trends: International forums and expos will explore cross-sector partnerships and future market directions in the cultural sector.
- Urban Action: Live venues across Taipei will showcase music as a cultural language and integrate creativity into everyday life.
Highlights include an arts festival at Taipei Artist Village, a “fairyland party” and silent disco at Taipei Performing Arts Center, and creative happenings at Songshan Cultural Park.
