TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — German-owned Foodpanda announced Tuesday it is expanding recruitment with annual salaries of up to NT$3 million (US$97,000).
The company said changes in US tariff policies have impacted Taiwan’s traditional manufacturing and real estate industries, per a press release. Facing cost pressures, some firms may be placing employees on unpaid leave.
Amid this shift in the global economic environment, Foodpanda said many business consultants in Taiwan have switched careers to join the company since July. With this new recruitment round, it is offering 100 positions in areas such as business development and account management.
Foodpanda said it aims to attract professionals with sales experience from traditional industries and the real estate sector, while also helping ease social pressures caused by furloughs.
In recent years, the company has invested in developing food service business consultants. Since 2020, it has run the “foodpanda Business Academy,” focused on digital transformation.
The academy features four programs — skills training, project sharing, cross-departmental training, and expert lectures — designed to develop talent with hands-on experience in data and digital transformation in the food service industry.
