TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A Taiwanese defense industry delegation signed MOUs with Polish and Ukrainian partners on drones at the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Poland on Wednesday.
The agreements lay the foundation for trilateral technology exchange and security cooperation, per CNA. Taiwan’s representative to Poland, Liu Yung-chien (劉永健), attended the signing ceremony.
Taiwan’s delegation, led by Taiwan Defense Industry Development Association Secretary-General Hsu Shou-chang (徐綬章), included nearly 20 companies making their debut at the defense expo. On Tuesday, the group hosted a matchmaking event that drew interest from drone manufacturers in Poland, Ukraine, and Lithuania.
Hsu signed the agreements on behalf of Taiwan’s Thunder Tiger and Taiwan Excellence Drone Overseas Business Alliance. The Taiwan-Poland Chamber of Commerce, represented by founder Bartlomiej Dobosz, and Ukraine’s Lviv Tech Cluster, represented by Dmytro Dymyd, were the signatories from Europe.
Liu said cooperation in the drone sector is critical for strengthening defense partnerships. He said Taiwan would continue to work with like-minded democracies to safeguard peace.
The International Defence Industry Exhibition, now in its 33rd year, runs from Tuesday to Friday in Kielce. With around 800 defense companies from 35 countries, it is the third-largest defense exhibition in Europe after the UK and France.
