TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council has completed a preliminary review of Taiwanese entertainers who shared a China Central Television social media post about Wednesday’s military parade in Beijing.

Celebrities who shared the post included Nicky Wu (吳奇隆), Annie Yi (伊能靜), Wu Kang-ren (吳慷仁), Yang Pei-an (楊培安), Shu Qi (舒淇), Lin Rui-yang (林瑞陽), and Chang Ting (張庭), per CNA.

The MAC said it was aware of the situation and was gathering and analyzing relevant information. It said the post’s content did not appear to undermine Taiwan’s sovereignty or advocate the use of force to alter the cross-strait status quo.

The council called on Taiwanese and opposition parties to recognize the Chinese Communist Party’s motives in staging the military parade and to work together to safeguard Taiwan’s prosperity and security.
