TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Central Taiwan is looking to expand into the Thai tourism market.
Taichung City and Nantou and Changhua counties partnered with STARLUX Airlines to host 25 leading Thai travel agencies from Sept. 8–12, according to Taichung’s Tourism and Travel Bureau. The group spent two days in central Taiwan, visiting natural attractions in Nantou and historical sites in Changhua.
The Thai travel agencies were impressed by the diversity of attractions, said Chen Mei-hsiu (陳美秀), director of Taichung’s Tourism and Travel Bureau. They praised central Taiwan’s rich natural landscapes and cultural heritage.
Chen said that to encourage more flight routes, central Taiwan is working to attract international travelers. She noted that Thai visitor arrivals to Taiwan have been steadily growing since the pandemic, making Thailand one of Taiwan’s key sources of international tourists.
