TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – EVA Air on Friday launched its first direct flight to Dallas, Texas, its ninth destination in North America.
The initial frequency of three flights a week from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is to be increased to five flights from Nov. 18. The service will become daily from Dec. 15, per CNA.
EVA said that it was the Taiwanese airline with the most flights to North America, with 94 flights per week from December. The company also pointed out the importance of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport for transit traffic to other destinations in North and Latin America.
EVA is also hoping for passengers in the other direction to use Taoyuan as a transit hub for travel to Asia.
The airline pointed out that Dallas is the third busiest airport in the world. The Boeing 787-9 with the new fourth-generation version of the premium economy class is plying the new route, EVA said.
