TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — National Taiwan University rose to 140th in the Times Higher Education 2026 World University Rankings released on Thursday.
The university's ranking rose 32 places from last year’s 172nd, per CNA. NTU said the latest rankings show improvements across four indicators.
The university said that in the industry category, which measures a university's ability to help industry with innovations and inventions, it achieved a perfect score of 100. NTU also saw improvements in its teaching, research environment, and international outlook.
In response to the higher ratings, NTU said it considers all rankings as references for self-improvement. The university pledged to focus on key research areas and promote internationalization, while striving to enhance its research impact and international reputation.
The university also plans to fulfill its mission by cultivating talent for society and the nation.
