TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Swancor and Hydrogen Valley Power signed an MOU on Thursday to develop hydrogen bus power systems.
The partnership will focus on developing hydrogen power systems for buses and specialty vehicles, per CNA. Swancor CEO Tsai Hsiao-te (蔡孝德) said the collaboration will create a full domestic hydrogen supply chain from carbon-fiber tanks to vehicle integration.
Sunwell Carbon Fiber Composite, the company’s subsidiary, will produce Type IV high-pressure, low-carbon recyclable hydrogen tanks. The tanks offer high-capacity storage, enhancing safety and efficiency for vehicles.
Hydrogen Valley Power will apply its advanced hydrogen bus technology to decarbonize public transit, combining supply and application expertise to accelerate low-carbon transport solutions.
Swancor said the deal represents cross-sector integration, strengthening the domestic hydrogen ecosystem and supporting local innovation.
Hydrogen Valley Power Chair Cheng Ying-hao (鄭英豪) said a complete industry chain is essential for hydrogen mobility, per Liberty Times. The partnership will accelerate the growth of hydrogen specialty vehicles, he added.
