TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taiwan Railway Corporation has temporarily suspended the Pingxi Line due to heavy mountain rainfall as the northeast monsoon and Tropical Storm Fengshen affect northern and eastern Taiwan.
The Central Weather Administration has issued heavy rain advisories for Keelung, Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, and Yilan County, per CNA. The railway said the suspension is a precaution for passenger safety.
CWA said that Monday and Tuesday, the northeast monsoon combined with Fengshen's outer bands will bring showers or thunderstorms to northern, northeastern, and eastern Taiwan.
The railway has activated a road-based shuttle service. It will review conditions and announce the resumption of train service, urging passengers to check schedules and service updates before traveling.
