TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau has confirmed that this year's coffee festival will be held Nov. 22-23 at Aozihdi Forest Park, Yahoo News reported Wednesday.
The festival will partner with Kaohsiung Coffee and Tea Promotion Association. Approximately 140 exhibitors, including coffee shops and vendors from Shennong Market will participate, focusing on local products and sustainable tourism.
The tourism authority said the festival will also feature world champion roasters and award-winning brands. More than 10 local coffee brands from Maolin and Namasia will showcase locally grown beans and sustainable practices.
Kao Min-lin (高閔琳), director of the city's tourism bureau, said Kaohsiung has produced several world-class roasters and baristas. Many specialty cafes in the area have also become must-visit spots for both local and international visitors.
Kao said the event allows people to connect directly with baristas and learn the story behind each cup. She added the festival also aims to inspire visitors to explore local cafes and experience their unique atmosphere after the event.
Kaohsiung held its first coffee festival last year to promote the city’s cafes, beverages, and bakery industries. The event earned positive feedback and encouraged coffee cultivation in local mountain communities.
