TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A pistachio storm is sweeping through W Taipei’s Woobar this season as it teams up with Pista Ciao for an afternoon tea experience dedicated to “Sicily’s green gold.”
At the heart of the menu lies Pista Ciao’s celebrated pistachio cream spread, made from rare Sicilian pistachios that account for just 1% of global production, according to BBC. Grown in the volcanic soil of southern Italy, these prized nuts are lightly roasted and cold-milled to preserve their natural aroma.
Marking the first time Pista Ciao desserts are served in a sit-down setting in Taiwan, the afternoon tea set features seven pistachio-forward creations, paired with a choice of themed cocktail or mocktail. The experience is priced at NT$2,588 (US$84) for two.

Dessert highlights include the pistachio hojicha dacquoise, an almond sponge with a pearl-sugar crust and frozen pistachio–hojicha cream filling. The pistachio white chocolate religieuse features choux puffs filled with pistachio chantilly and white chocolate vanilla cream.
The pistachio mousse cake, strawberry coulis gleams under a blush-pink glaze with layers of strawberry jelly, mascarpone mousse, and pistachio crumble. The pistachio custard Napoleon pie rounds out the sweets with caramelized puff pastry, lemon zest, and creamy pistachio custard.
Savory creations follow the same inspiration. Crispy bacon, chocolate pistachio apricot sauce balances sweet and smoky flavors atop a buttery muffin base sprinkled with crushed pink peppercorns.

Mexican-style deep-fried spicy pistachio cream cheese features a molten chipotle-infused center coated in golden crust and caramelized pistachio crumbs. The truffle pistachio cream spread smoked salmon roll combines torched salmon, truffle mayonnaise, Provencal herbs, and sea grapes.
The drinks lineup includes three pistachio-inspired signatures. Nut Me Up blends Baileys, Disaronno, vodka, yogurt, and pistachio spread into a silky, dessert-like sip finished with citrus zest and crushed pistachios.
Tonic Nutcase brightens the mix with lemongrass, mint tea, and gin infused with lime juice and falernum syrup for a refreshing, layered flavor. For a non-alcoholic option, Cha and Nut offers a soothing blend of English breakfast tea, oat milk, hazelnut syrup, and honey.
