TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) said Wednesday that Nvidia has confirmed its Taiwan headquarters will be located at the Beitou-Shilin Technology Park's T17 and T18 parcels.
Chiang made the statement after leading department heads to the Taipei City Council for a report on the government's policy plans and budget for the next year, per CNA. Following the briefing, he revealed that a video conference with Nvidia's headquarters had resulted in three key conclusions.
First, Nvidia had confirmed its headquarters would be at the T17 and T18 plots. Second, Nvidia wants the city government to quickly negotiate a contract termination with Shin Kong Life Insurance.
Third, the city government will fulfill all administrative procedures, including urban planning modifications, to expedite Nvidia's establishment in Taipei.
Deputy Mayor Lee Shu-chuan (李四川) said that during the video conference with Nvidia at 12 p.m., the company had finalized the land choice. Regarding the parcels, Shin Kong Life is expected to submit a cost proposal this week and will terminate the contract with the city government next week.
