TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The TPP on Wednesday announced its first batch of nominees for next year’s local elections, most of them incumbents from Taipei and Hsinchu.
The list includes Taipei Councilors Huang Ching-ying (黃瀞瑩), Chen Yu-cheng (陳宥丞), Lin Chen-yu (林珍羽), and Chang Chih-hao (張志豪), as well as Hsinchu Councilors Lee Kuo-chang (李國璋) and Sung Pin-ying (宋品瑩), per CNA. Yeh Kuo-wen, running in Hsinchu’s Xiangshan District, is the only newcomer.
TPP Chair Huang Kuo-chang (黃國昌) said the candidates are rooted in their communities and bring professionalism and dedication to public service, per UDN. He urged them to continue earning public trust through concrete action.
Each nominee should work to become the best choice for voters next year and help advance the TPP’s vision of transparent local governance, he said.
Huang added that the Cabinet has asked the TPP legislative caucus to recommend candidates for the Central Election Commission, prompting the party to open applications. Candidates have until Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. to submit their applications.
