TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taipei Computer Association is leading a delegation of Taiwanese companies to showcase technologies in AI, energy, manufacturing, and smart agriculture at the Thailand Smart City Expo.
The three-day event, which began on Wednesday in Bangkok, features 168 exhibitors. It focuses on showcasing technologies in telecom, energy, smart living, mobility, and healthcare. The organizer is also hosting related forums and has set up 5G and robotics zones.
Shen Tzu-hsin (沈子信), director of the association’s international business division, said that Taiwanese exhibitors include Delta Electronics, 3Egreen Technology, and Oriongo Co., which specializes in positioning technologies. He noted that most Taiwanese solutions presented at the expo are comprehensive and adaptable across sectors, per CNA.
Some of the Taiwanese representatives also participated in a panel discussion on Thursday, which focused on establishing collaboration plans with the Thai government to develop smart city solutions.
Cheng Chun-yuan (鄭竣元), Delta’s global solutions manager, said the company has established operations in Thailand and is building three factories there. He added that Delta has supported Thailand’s infrastructure, ICT technologies, data centers, energy, and automation systems.
On Wednesday, the company said it received global ICT industry circular economy certification, recognizing its efforts in sourcing, design, process optimization, and waste management, which are key elements for sustainable development.
Korthong Thongtham Na Ayutthaya, deputy director of the Eastern Economic Corridor project, praised Taiwan’s smart city initiatives and said the two sides have set up multiple collaborations. He hopes cooperation in innovative technologies will deepen and that Taiwanese firms will set up R&D facilities in Thailand.
Additionally, he highlighted challenges in Thailand’s urban development, including transportation, energy, and water management, and said Taiwan’s technologies could help address these issues.
