TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Ally Saint Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Terrance Drew arrived in Taiwan Thursday for a five-day official visit.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries have continued since 1983, with Drew submitting motions supporting Taiwan’s bids for international participation three years in a row, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Each time, the National Assembly unanimously approved the motions.
During his third visit to Taiwan since taking office, Drew will oversee the signing of sister city agreements by the capital Basseterre with Taipei and Tainan. He will also meet President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) and attend a banquet hosted by Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍), who welcomed his delegation at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Thursday morning.
The visitors will exchange views with government leaders for a better understanding of Taiwan’s economic, trade, and cultural development. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the Caribbean country for its steadfast support, adding it looked forward to deepening bilateral cooperation.
