TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — TSMC is on track to approach NT$1 trillion (US$32 billion) in AI-related revenue this year, fueled by orders from Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom.
Analysts estimated that AI revenue will account for 23–28% of revenue this year, per UDN. TSMC’s AI-related business includes GPUs and ASICs for data centers and AI edge computing devices.
Clients continue reserving advanced process capacity, particularly below 3 nm, ensuring TSMC’s order visibility remains clear through 2028. Analysts said the global AI race has made pre-booking a strategic necessity for major tech firms.
TSMC Chair and CEO C.C. Wei (魏哲家) said at an earnings call that server AI processor revenue could account for more than 20% of total revenue by 2028. TSMC serves over 500 clients, with complex AI projects requiring two to three years.
TSMC’s 2 nm process has entered mass production on schedule. Generally, the smaller the process the more advanced the chip. The company expects 2 nm adoption to grow rapidly next year, driven by smartphones, high-performance computing, and AI applications.
Analysts noted that TSMC’s advanced process advantage and broad client base give it a dominant position in the AI chip market.
