TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — New Taipei City’s Youth Department collaborated with the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) to host the US250 circulating exhibit, which marks the 250th anniversary of the United States.
According to the Youth Department, Commissioner Marcia Qiu (邱兆梅) said the US has nearly 250 years of democratic experience and that the exhibit is meant to help the younger generation build global awareness.
The Youth Department has worked with the AIT since 2024 on English clubs and workshops. It added that it set up an “American Shelf” this year to offer books on US culture and hold lectures on study programs, artificial intelligence art, and travel.
The department said it also teamed up with the AIT to run a diplomacy simulation workshop that allows young people to act out diplomatic talks in English. AIT officers joined the sessions to walk students through negotiation pressure and methods, it added.
The AIT prepared interactive displays for the exhibit in New Taipei. These include a “US hero” personality quiz, an AI-made “sound portrait” of Washington, and a map that shows features from all 50 states.
The exhibit runs at New Taipei City Youth Station through Dec. 29 before moving on to the AIT’s American Center. The Youth Department said it will keep pushing global programs to help youth build broader perspectives.
