TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — New Taipei's Tamsui Historical Museum and Shihsanhang Museum are launching river-and-land tours with boat cruises near the Tamsui Bridge and walks through riverside historic sites.
CNA reported Wednesday that the inaugural tours will start on Dec. 27 and 28, with sign-ups opening at 10 a.m. on Friday. Officials said the tours run through June 2026 and cover 11 routes on both sides of the Tamsui River.
Museum officials said all routes include a chartered boat ride that brings passengers up close to the Tamsui Bridge, the world’s largest single-tower asymmetric cable-stayed bridge. They said the bridge is set as the main focus of tours.
Tamsui Historical Museum Director Tsai Mei-chih (蔡美治) said the bridge now stands as a new city landmark. She said the tours help people see Tamsui from fresh angles by mixing boat rides with on-foot guides.
Shihsanhang Museum Director Lo Pei-hsuan (羅珮瑄) said the Bali District routes tie in low-carbon travel and local culture. Lo said one stop includes Taiwan’s only archaeology-themed cafe.
The first tour groups are capped at 96 people, with tickets priced at NT$299 (US$9.50). Registration is available on the museums’ official websites.
