TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Central Weather Administration said that temperatures in Taiwan will drop below 13 C on Friday and Saturday due to a cold wave.
During this period, temperatures will range from 10 to 16 C in the north, 11 to 20 C in central Taiwan, and 13 to 24 C in the south. Scattered heavy rain is expected in the north and northeast, while central and southern regions may experience brief, scattered showers, per CNA.
The administration said that some areas of Yushan saw snowfall early Friday morning. Hehuanshan and parts of Taipingshan in Yilan also experienced sleet during the early hours. From Friday to Saturday, high mountains above 2,000 meters in the north and above 3,000 meters in the central region could also see snowfall.
From Sunday to Monday, Taiwan is expected to warm up, with rainfall easing. Temperatures will range from 17 to 23 C in the north and 14 to 27 C in the central and southern regions. The north and central-south regions will be mostly cloudy to sunny, with brief showers possible in the east.
Another front may affect Taiwan between Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures ranging from 17 to 21 C in the north and 15 to 25 C in the central and southern regions. Rain is possible in the north and east.
