TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan Lottery on Tuesday rolled out its first wave of Lunar New Year scratch-off games, with five new titles offering more than 19.64 million winning tickets and total prizes exceeding NT$12.8 billion (US$406.18 million).
The “NT$12 Million Grand Fortune (1200萬大吉利)” game, which is only released during the Lunar New Year period, carries the highest top prize among NT$1,000-denomination scratch-off games, per Liberty Times. It offers eight NT$12 million jackpots and 200 NT$1 million second prizes, with an overall winning rate of 70%.
“Five Gods of Wealth (五路財神)” costs NT$500 per ticket. The game offers eight top prizes of NT$5 million and has a winning rate of 40.72%.
The extended-play puzzle-style “Undersea Treasure Hunt (海底大尋寶)” is priced at NT$300 and includes more than 770,000 prizes of NT$1,000 or more. It has five top prizes of NT$3 million and a winning rate of 36%.
“Big Three Dragons (大三元)” costs NT$200 and is themed around mahjong’s three dragon tiles of Zhong, Fa, and Bai. It offers seven top prizes of NT$2 million and has a winning rate of 34%.
The zodiac-themed “Year of the Horse Good Luck (馬年行大運)” is priced at NT$100 and features 150 top prizes of NT$50,000. Its overall winning rate is 50.1%, the company said.
