TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s total tax revenue for 2025 reached NT$3.75 trillion (US$118.7 billion), the Ministry of Finance said Tuesday.
The figure met 98.7% of the annual budget target, falling NT$50.5 billion short of projections, according to CNA.
Revenue from the securities transaction tax totaled NT$292.8 billion for the year, up 1.6% from 2024, a key gauge of stock market activity.
In December, nationwide tax collections reached NT$170.2 billion, down 10.7% from a year earlier. Securities transaction tax revenue for the month rose 32.7% year-on-year to NT$31.1 billion, marking the fifth consecutive month of growth.
Compared with 2024, individual income tax revenue increased by NT$38.7 billion and corporate income tax rose by NT$21.8 billion. By contrast, revenue from business tax, land value increment tax, and commodity tax declined.
